I tried to incorporate many symbols into the illustration. The carousel horse from Neverland, the flight over the city reference both Peter Pan and Chagall. The growing flowers and the star symbolize a pure and sincere dream.
The main character struggles with dyslexia, I wanted to show this in the handwritten font for the book’s title.
I enjoyed both the process and the result. The illustration turned out symbolic and, as I think, touching.
