The turning point for Nesterov was the third year of study at a real school. His mentors were finally convinced of his artistic abilities. Paints were bought for him, they began to do additional drawing with him and, most importantly, at Easter they gave him a special gift: they took him to a traveling exhibition, the best art exhibition of those times. Misha was amazed. He was completely at a loss, he was delighted to oblivion. The paintings, especially the "Ukrainian Night" by Arkhip Ivanovich Kuindzhi, made an incredible impression on him.
